A Big Thanks to All! Posted 05-24-2010 by SPAZZ[LPANE]
I have been staring at the blinking cursor in my word doc, trying to figure out how to start this. Also troubling me is the format, seeing as there is so much to say. So here is my best effort....
I would first and foremost like to give a huge thank you to each and every one of you who came out this weekend. I had an awesome time at LANFest Nor'easter 2010. There was no power, network or personnel issues. We had servers abound, COD4, Soldat, LFD2 and Teamspeak. We had music, food and PRIZES. We had some guy poke me with a stick to wake me up at 6:30a Sunday morning. We had some “interesting” late night conversation. Some people got new nicknames, like my friends slomo, random echo, nonsensical and clarity. Some people walked away with some awesome 22” 3D LCD Displays, others killer new Intel Extreme Edition 6 Core Processors. Heck some people even got an absurd amount of bandanas.
We tried something new this year by teaming up with the Game Development Group from UMASS Lowell. Matt, Caleb & Crew did a kick ass job creating an interactive, thought twisting, intranet based game. The guys pulled it together in just under 4 days, and boy I was super impressed. If they came up with that in 4 days, imagine what they can do with a whole year? Wink wink, nudge nudge. Thanks a Million for doing that guys, you get the Spazz Horns for sure.
To our many volunteers, thank you for all the help, you made setup & tear down a breeze as well you helped me stay awake and alert with many cups of coffee and other various drinks. Lastly, Tom Harper, you have brought so much to our little LPANE family, and really helped us to make our parties a standout. With your help we had a massive table FULL of kick ass prizes. You sir, are the man!
Well, that's all for now my friends. I look forward to seeing you all again soon. Most especially, I look forward to Intel LANFest Nor'easter 2011.
Your friend and Host,
Spazz

Two Days Until Noreaster! Posted 05-19-2010 by noxin
Well Gamers,
It's time to get ready for an awesome LAN Party!
We've received swag and prizes from IZ3D, Microsoft, ThermalTake,
CoolIT, Crucial, DustOff, Monster and most importantly Intel has sent
over some rocking processors and motherboards!
While we will make every attempt to keep all equipment in the room
secure, do be aware that there is little we can do to prevent ipods,
portable game consoles, cds, big wads of cash, and other small items
from walking off. We strongly suggest you keep such items out of plain
view and use some common sense when it comes to your own security.
If you're coming with a laptop, we strongly recommend you invest in a
laptop lock particularly if you plan on leaving your laptop
unaccompanied at any point.
As we've mentioned previously, we have a limited amount of items for
sale that will help you out in case you forget something critical.
Network Cables, laptop locks (buy or rent), power cords, mice....
Check out the LPANE Store at www.boslan.org and stop by the Help Desk
at the event to purchase anything you need.
One of our junior staff members created a printable checklist to help
ease your worries about forgetting something, http://bit.ly/aSD31F .

the day of the event. If you do not have this you will not be allowed
in.) – We will try and provide waivers to sign at the door but it
would be best to bring them with you.
